ABOUT OUR CHURCH

OUR MISSION
Laurel Hill Baptist Church exists to equip followers of Jesus to live like Jesus
OUR HISTORY
Beginning as a mission in February of 1953, Laurel Hill Baptist Church met for some time in the home of Mr. Manley Gibson and Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Gibson. The mission covenanted together as an organized church on June 14, 1954, with 27 charter members and called Rev. O.W. McManus as the church's first pastor who served at LHBC for around 10 years.

After several pastors in the late sixties or early seventies, Don Malpass was called as Pastor in May of 1975. With a ministry philosophy based on Ephesians 4 of "equipping the saints for the work of the ministry" and a conviction to preach verse by verse through the Bible, Pastor Don faithfully served LHBC for 47 years as God worked greatly in the church. Under Don's leadership the church's facilities and staff expanded, building a new sanctuary and calling Youth Pastor Kyle Wyckoff in 2001.
The Lord has blessed our church beyond measure and we give Him the praise for all He has done these past 63 years. We look forward with great anticipation to what He will do in the years ahead ..... until He comes!
